"The Post-Bulletin on 1/30/2010 wrote a article listing the best places to stay in Rochester, Minnesota when you are visiting here. They created a list that includes a few places. The Dorthy Day House is a place in my opinion that is not a good place for anyone to stay at. The Dorthy Day House is a place that was founded with a idea in mind to help homeless people and is specifically meant to function as such. I would not recommend anyone that is "not" in need of emergency housing to stay there. Many types of individuals frequent this house. Here are a few things to consider: If a person stays in the house they will also sleep in a room with a person  they do not know, eat each meal with a person they do not know and also will have to share a shower and bathroom. Also it should be noted the neighborhood around the house is not the best of areas after 6pm.This

The Baptist Hospitality House is a really safe, great and cheaper alternative to hotels. The Baptist Hospitality House is a lodging ministry to patients and their families visiting the Mayo Clinic and local hospitals. It's rates are $70.00 per night (weekly) and $65.00 per night (monthly), Prices subject to change. General guidelines explains as follows : Mayo Clinic appointments or hospital admission must be made prior to making Baptist Hospitality House reservations. Please be prepared to show a doctor's medical referral or Mayo Clinic appointment schedule at check-in time. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, space-available basis. Space is limited to patients and immediate family, with the exception of patient care providers. The Baptist Hospitality House DOES accommodate organ transplant patients. The Baptist Hospitality House is entirely non-smoking. Guests do NOT have to be Baptists to stay at the Baptist Hospitality House.

Life's a Bench! Project - Rochester, Minnesota The Life's a Bench project is funded by the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council through the Minnesota arts and cultural heritage fund. The project highlights creative artists who submitted designs to paint benches with creative art, which in turn each beach then was placed in various locations around Rochester, Minnesota 13 artists were selected.
