Restaurant reviews in Rochester Minnesota

The Good:

Many restaurants make this list (when updated more will be added). The restaurants listed below are stables and over the years have been known for providing reliability, good service, price, and food (in no particular order) updated 9/2/2020.

Chesters: http://chesterskb.com/

American. Great place. Good food. Atmosphere. Great location. Slightly pricey.

Daube's Bakery/Jasper's Alscasan Bistro: https://www.facebook.com/DaubesBakery/

Rochester's unique gems. Daube's is an excellent bakery and Jasper's is a small and delicious bistro located along Civic Center Drive. Both are owned by the same company and are reasonably priced.

300 First/Redwood Room:https://www.live2dine.com/redwood-room

A cheaper high-class alternative to Rochester's offerings. Make a reservation if you can they get busy Fri, Sat nights. Often have live music!

Hefe Rojo:https://www.facebook.com/heferojorochmn/

Mexican cuisine. The restaurant is in downtown with a slick, large, and inviting atmosphere. It's a wonderful place to sit down and eat. It has awesome appetizers and bread. The price is a little spendy. But it's well worth it.

Newt's: https://www.live2dine.com/newts

The best burgers and beer in town.

La Perla Poblana: https://www.lapoblanacafe.com/ Mexican. The fair decor, great atmosphere, and good fair priced traditional Hispanic food.

El Carambras:http://elcarambas.com/

Mexican. One of Rochester's hidden gems. Carambras offers some of the best in Mexican authentic food and fair prices.

Pi Pizza:https://www.facebook.com/Pi-Pizza-82667898090/

Pizza. Fair priced fast service, good pizza. The best for local options.

The Bad:

  • Asian restaurants (Japanese, Chinese, etc) there are none yet that stand to traditional and proper Asian food (unless you enjoy the typical General Tso's and Sweet and Sour type dishes.)
  • Any so-called Greek, Italian, Seafood, or Indian (very overprice and not so traditional.)
  • Chain steak houses: even by chain standards, not that great.
