This article, which draws on an archive newspaper article from 1943, explains how Dr. Mayo, feeling defeated by a dying patient, found hope in the presence of a minister who prayed with the patient, leading to an unexpected recovery. The experience was repeated several times, and Dr. Mayo came to see the efficacy of religion in helping his patients. Life's a Bench! Project - Rochester, Minnesota The Life's a Bench project is funded by the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council through the Minnesota arts and cultural heritage fund. The project highlights creative artists who submitted designs to paint benches with creative art, which in turn each beach then was placed in various locations around Rochester, Minnesota 13 artists were selected.
